The Basic-Mount
The Basic-mount is a basic aerial camera mount that can be strapped to the skid of an rc helicopter. The mount can be used “universally” with any size and type of rc helicopter ranging from 30 to 90 class because of it’s unique adjustable skid brackets.
The Basic-mount utilises the common swivel joint design that is proven to be effective in keeping the camera leveled by it’s own weight(gravity). Vibration dampening of the unit comes from the supplied foam rubbers for the skids as well as the optional shock absorbers that dissipates the pendulum effect while the camera swings to level itself. However, unique to the Uni-mount’s method, the swivel joint and the optional shock absorbers is completely movable as one assembly so positioning of the center of gravity (which is important in keeping the helicopter’s hovering leveled) is very easy and precise.
The skid brackets are bolted onto the slotted beams to allow easy and precise width adjustments.
The legs are firmly bolted to the chassis by means of light and high strength delrin plastic shoulders.
The feet wrapped in shock absorbing foam rubber is bolted to the legs by means of delrin plastic joints. This same foam rubber are supplied with this camera mount for wrapping the helicopter skids to isolate the camera from engine vibrations.
The swivel assembly and the shocks brackets are movable as one assembly to allow quick and easy positioning of the camera along the helicopter’s center of gravity.
The shocks bracket has multiple holes to accomodate various length of shocks.
The camera-carriage pivot point is adjustable to balance the weight and can be locked to various angle. Option for a servo driven tilt control is also available.
