The Versa-Mount is a versatile camera-positioning mount that can be attached to 90-class r/c helicopters. It has retractable feet and 3 fully articulated axes (namely 360deg-pan, 180deg-tilt, and 270deg-roll) that can be gyro-stabilized to keep the camera relatively steady even if the unit is in motion. The Versa-Mount comes "ARF" (almost ready-to-use) with servos pre-wired and pneumatics installed - you just need to add gyros and radio. Price varies depending on options included.
Other key features of the Versa-Mount includes the two-stage vibration dampening and the fully adjustable camera carriage for precise location of the center of gravity in the tilt and roll as well as in the pan axes. With these features the Versa-Mount is able to accommodate various sizes and shapes of cameras ranging from a small pin type camera to as big as the Panasonic HVX-200 without problem of sudden jerk in motion of the camera or the helicopter due to shifts in the center of gravity.
Position feedback potentiometers provides proportional control of the tilt and roll position.
The Versa-Mount is directly bolted to the helicopter chassis via the Primary vibration dampeners (instead of just being tied to the skid) to insure stability of the helicopter during lift-off and landing as well as of the mount itself during fight. Please note one of the four (4) retract units (gold color in the foreground) that opens the Versa-Mount’s feet to allow unobstructed 360 deg panning of the camera.

The camera carriage assembly that serves as the tilt arm is adjustable up/down to enable you to pre-balance the camera’s weight along the center of rotation to insure smooth motion when tilting the camera into a vertical position to look down. Additionally, the whole carriage assembly is also adjustable along the horizontal roll-arms to allow length adjustment to various length/ or size of the camera you want to use.
The carriage pedestal has provisions for installing “ dove-tail ” camera attachment fixtures (such as Manfrotto) to facilitate quick mount/dismount of your camera.
